Coaching in a business context

In our approach, we take the following aspects into consideration:

Business needs

The objective of coaching is growth and performance. Each organization has its own characteristics: being effective in an environment growing through acquisition or in a company in a downsizing process represent totally different requirements which are important to take into consideration.

The position of the coachee

The coaching must be designed to better align the coachee to the requirements of his / her current or future position. There are different types of position (operational, support, matrix…) which require one to demonstrate other types of personal characteristics and from the perspective of the coach, understanding positions and being able to take those into consideration is crucial.

The personal characteristics of the coachee

According to the business and position requirements, we assess together with the coachee, his/her hierarchy and Human Resources which new work patterns need to be developed. This agreement is formalized in a “contract” approved by all the above mentioned parties and represents the basis for the measurement and evaluation of the progress achieved at the end of the coaching cycle.

Experience-based intervention based on the acquisition of new behaviors

Our intervention is experience based. We want it to be as pragmatic and helpful as possible.  Therefore, we ask the coachee to submit to us specific situations he or she faces in the short term and we will:

  • work together on the debrief of those situations
  • prepare the coachee to face future situations
  • advise on the most appropriate approach…

Our approach to coaching is focused on the acquisition of new behavior.  Challenging the coachee to develop self-awareness and creating accountability to adopt more effective behaviors represent our focus

Embedded results

The purpose is to raise the level of awareness of the coachee. Our intervention consists in confronting the person to help him/her understanding his/her way of functioning, consider alternative scenarios and more importantly, take ownership and implement actions, behaviours as well a way of being leading to success.
